I often talk about coding and jumping from one project to another… but in reality… it’s not just coding.
Every week there’s a new hobby… a new interest… I try a thing once… enjoy it… the next minute I’m on Amazon or eBay buying everything I can to become successful in whatever thing I’m now obsessed with…
The problem is… these hobbies usually stick around for a month… maybe two… so it’s very easy to accumulate… stuff.
Often I get called a hoarder of “shit drawer stuff”, mainly because they don’t know what the stuff actually is… and how interesting it is… well to me anyway. But… I know… if I have a mass clean out and throw it away… it’ll only be a few weeks before I realise I actually need it for something… some new project… some new idea.
So it remains… it remains in multiple drawers of what I like to call organised chaos. While ever it’s just chucked in there I can find it in minutes… the moment I try to actually organise it… it might as well be gone forever.
The amount of times I’ve had to re-buy something I thought was gone forever only to turn up in actually a quite logical place is scary…
I think for now at least… organised chaos is the way it must stay…
