That's good, but how does it work...

Ever since I was little, I've been obsessed with how thing work... every time something broke, I'd take it apart. I remember when I was little disassembling my granddad's video recorder in the middle of his living room to see how it ticked... I never did quite manage to put it back together without realising it must have come with spare parts... Oops...

Roll on a few (well... probably more than a few) years, the interest in how things tick has never gone away. But... my interest has moved from mainly hardware to software...

And that has gotten me into trouble more than once...

The things that interest me the most are security... and getting things for free... I've spent many evenings taking apart 30 day free trial software with one objective, for it to become an unlimited day free trial.

The issue comes when you find it's REALLY easy, or there's a huge gap in how it checks something... do you tell them or... keep it to yourself?

It turns out telling people they have a huge gap in their security isn't always the best thing... it also turns out if you decide to read the 100 page end user license agreement that comes with a free trial, they frown at people taking it to bits... who knew...

On the flip side, at least it's a new skill unlocked...
